Reporting Encounter of Marked Bird with a Metal Federal Band

We are pleased to announce that we are now providing basic banding information on the bird you are reporting, including the State or Province where the bird was banded, the date it was banded, and the species. Although 90% of band numbers will return data, in some cases, no information will be available. There are three possible reasons:

   1. Data accessed through this website is limited to the last 20 years.
   2. The band you have encountered was not yet reported by the bander. We will notify the bander of your encounter.
   3. There is an error in reading or entering the band number.

Certificates of Appreciation may take 3-4 weeks to arrive after you have made a report. If you have reported a band encounter but have not received a certificate or confirmation e-mail for it, or if you need to make corrections to your report, please e-mail bandreports@patuxent.usgs.gov; do not report the band again here.

Please select the bird group by using the down arrow to retrieve a list or type the first letter and the system will start the list at the beginning of that letter. When done selecting the bird type, click the Next Page button to continue.

Nous sommes heureux de vous informer que nous pouvons maintenant vous communiquer des renseignements généraux sur les oiseaux que vous signalez, comme l'État ou la province où ils ont été bagués, la date du baguage et l'espèce. Bien que 90 p. 100 des numéros de bagues retournent des données, dans certains cas, il n'y a aucun renseignement disponible. Trois raisons sont possibles :

   1. En raison de l'espace limité, nous ne stockons que les données des vingt dernières années.
   2. La bague que vous signalez n'a pas encore été enregistrée par le bagueur. Nous aviserons le bagueur de votre signalement.
   3. Vous avez fait une erreur en lisant ou en entrant le numéro de la bague.

Le certificat d'appréciation peut prendre jusqu'à 3-4 semaines avant d'être reçu après avoir complété le rapport de récupération. Si vous avez rapporté une bague et que vous n'avez pas reçu un certificat ou une confirmation par courriel pour celle-ci, ou si vous devez faire des corrections à votre rapport, veuillez envoyer un courriel à bandreports@patuxent.usgs.gov; ne pas rapporter la bague une autre fois sur ce site.

Reporte del Encuentro de un Ave Marcada con un Anillo Federal Metálico

Tenemos el placer de anunciar que en este momento estamos proporcionando información básica sobre el anillaje del ave que usted esta reportando, esto incluye el estado o la provincia donde el ave fue anillada, la fecha en que fue anillada y su especie. Nuestra base de datos contiene información para un 90% de los anillos reportados, sin embargo, cabe la posibilidad que los datos no esten disponibles por las siguientes tres razones:

1. Esta página solamente tiene acceso a datos recopilados durante los pasados 20 años.

2. Los datos del anillo que usted ha encontrado no han sido reportados por el anillador; el cual será notificado del encuentro.

Una vez el anillo ha sido reportado, los Certificados de Agradecimiento pueden demorarse en llegar entre 3 o 4 semanas. Si usted no ha recibido un certificado o una confirmación vía correo electrónico indicando que hemos recibido su reporte o si necesita hacer alguna corrección, por favor, envíe un correo electrónico a bandreports@patuxent.usgs.gov y no intente volver a reportar el anillo en esta página.

Por favor seleccione a continuación el tipo de ave haciendo clic en la flecha invertida para activar el menu desplegable del cual podrá hacer su selección o escriba la primera letra del nombre del ave y el sistema le mostrará opciones en orden alfabético.
